The SSQ Quebec City Marathon is sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and also by the Quebec Athletics Federation.

The event is also a member of the Run Quebec City Series.

Since 2007, the SSQ Quebec City Marathon offers a flashing medal to all finishers of the following races:

The Marathon – 42.2K (GOLD color)
The Half-marathon – 21.1K (SILVER color)
The Oasis 10K Race (BRONZE color)
The Tanguays Kids Run – 5K (GOLD color)
