On August 24, 2008, the SSQ Quebec City Marathon will present its 11th edition, the biggest international sports event in Greater Quebec City and one of the most popular in Canada.
With more than 75% of the course running along the shores of the St. Lawrence River, this marathon takes participants on a scenic route like no other! Starting on the south shore, runners cross the historic Quebec Bridge and finish in the heart of Old Québec.
We have many events lined up:

10K Race;
McDonald's Kids Run (5K reserved for 7- to 14- year olds) |
There is also a fundraising walk: the Health 5K.
Walking or running our Marathon represents a physical and mental challenge that over 30,000 people have taken up since it was first held in 1998. These runners have come from more than 330 Québec municipalities, every Canadian province and more than 47 countries. |

| T-Shirts,
Medals and Certificates |
A technical T-Shirt will be given to all participants of the 42.2K, 21.1K
and 10K.
All participants of
the Marathon, the Half-Marathon, the 10K Race, the Team Challenge and the
Kids Run
will receive a medal and a certificate for completing the course. |

| Time Limit |
Time limit is as follow : |
| |
Run : 5 h 45 (that is a maximum of 8 min. per kilometre or 13
min. per mile)
Walk or slow run : 7 h (that is a maximum of 10 min. per
kilometre or 16 min. per mile) |

All participants must have completed the course before 2:30 pm. |

| Gifts among all participants |
Gifts will be drawn among all
participants registered to one of the event. To know if you are a
winner, look for the blue board in the arrival area. |

| Finish site |
 |
The finish site, for all races, is on Saint-Paul
street, near the famous Gare du Palais train station. All the after
race activities are held in the park next to the station.

The morning of the race, participants will be transported to their respective starting site according to the following. |

as they are full. |

• To and back - available ONLY at the Pfizer Pfizer Sports and Fitness Expo Show.
• For lack of time, there is no shuttle offered to friends
and family for the McDonald's Kids Run and for the Health 5K.

| Starting Sites |
|
Marathon |
The Marathon starting line is on Des Commandeurs Street in Lévis (run and walk).
The Marathon starting site is at Lévis Regional High School. Participants will have access to the premises. Outside the school, water, Gatorade, coffee, medical services, washrooms and buses, for personal belongings will be available.
For those who will choose to drive to the starting site, many parking spaces are available close to the starting site. However no transportation will be available to get back there after the race. See the section on Runner's transportation on how to get on the free shuttles. |

Half-Marathon |
The Half-Marathon starting line is on Chemin du Fleuve at the corner of Côte Rouge, in Saint-Romuald.
The starting site is located at Parc de l'Anse Benson. At this site, water, Gatorade, coffee, washroom and buses for personal belongings will be available.
There are very few parking spaces at this starting site. Therefore it is not recommended to drive there. See section Runners' transportation for more information on how to get there with the free shuttles.

10K Race |
The 10K Race starting line is located on Champlain Boulevard, at 800 meters east of the bridges, in Quebec City.
The starting site is located on what use to be the Irving Dock. At this site, water, Gatorade, coffee, washroom and buses for personal belongings will be available.
There are very few parking spaces at this starting site. Therefore it is not recommended to drive there. See section Runners' transportation for more information on how to get there with the free shuttles.

McDonald's Kids Run and Health 5K |
The McDonald's Kids Run and Health 5K starting site is on Champlain Boulevard, at the corner of Côte Gilmour, in Quebec City.
The staring site is located on the grounds next to the Tennis Montcalm. At this site, water, Gatorade, coffee, washroom and buses for personal belongings will be available.
There are very few parking spaces at this starting site. Therefore it is not recommended to drive there. See section Runners' transportation for more information on how to get there with the free shuttles. However, because of lack of time, this service is offered only to participants. |

| Personal Belongings |
 |
On every starting sites, buses will be available for participant to leave their personal belongings
in a small bag. This bag must be clearly
identified using the coupon given with your bib number. You can pick-up your bag at the finishing
area. The buses will be located after the finish line on Quai Saint-André street
until 3 pm. |

| Showers |
There are no showers available at the finish site. |
| |
|
| Sanction |
The SSQ Québec City Marathon is
sanctioned by the Association of International Marathons and Road
Races (AIMS) and also by the Québec Athletics Federation. The event
is also a member of the Run Quebec City Series. |

| Boston Qualifier |
The times obtained in the SSQ Québec
City
Marathon are accepted as qualifying times for the Boston Marathon. |

The average temperature for this
time of the year is 16 °C (60 °F) in the morning and 20 °C (68
°F) in the afternoon |
