The best CLIMBER
It’s in the last staircase of the course, the Cap-Blanc (yep… 398 steps…), that all participants will be invited to compete in order to crown the best climber of the Quebec City Staircase Challenge. Prizes will be given to both men and women.

The best SPRINTER
It’s once at the top of the Cap-Blanc staircase that the sprint starts for about 1.5 K. The running speed of each participant will be measured. Prizes will be given to both men and women.

Time limit & Timing


The time limit is of 3:40.

The MyLaps Bibtag system from Sporstats will be used for the Staircase Challenge.

With this system, there is no need to attach the timing device to a shoe. The timing tag is in the back of the bib.

The bib does not need to be returned after the race.

The Super Challenge will start first. Participants will start in groups of 6 every 10 seconds.
Walkers will be invited to start first.

Categories are based on the runner’s age as of December 31, 2014.

Oasis Challenge & Super Challenge

  • 10 to 19 years old
  • 20 to 29 years old
  • 30 to 39 years old
  • 40 to 49 years old
  • 50 to 59 years old
  • 60 to 69 years old
  • 70 years old and older

First position of each age category

The first of each age group wins a free registration for the 2015 Quebec City Staircase Challenge. This free registration may not be transferred to another person, to another event or to another year.
